There are lots of different reasons for considering becoming vegan.

For me the big motivation was cruelty to animals. I believe violence against any living creature is wrong.

Therefore it follows on logically for me that violence is also wrong when used against people. For this reason I am a pacifist.

There are plenty of vegans that would disagree with me. I'm happy to debate the issue and respect their views as I hope they would respect mine.

However I hope eventually humans will choose not to fight each other or other species.

I'm not naive enough to think this will be easy but then good stuff often takes effort.

I'd like to honour the memory of all the unsung heroes who refused to fight and suffered injury, imprisonment or death for their views. They have helped make the world a better place.

There is research that suggests many violent individuals have a history of abuse of animals. It isn't such a stretch to think that someone who can be insensitive enough to harm animals would happily hurt humans.
