There are a number of alternatives, most that I know of are mail order but if you know of local outlets that would be really helpful.

The other issues are fair trade and avoiding child labour which at least is a guarantee with most of the goods available by mail order but a bit more difficult to find out about from your high street outlet. Again any tips you can give, I'd like to hear em.
