Abby Kerr Memorial Bike Ride

Where: Kilmarnock, , Kilmarnock.
Date: Tue 16th Jun 2009 @ 10:00 until Sun 21st Jun 2009 @ 21:00 ( past event )

Abby Kerr was a primary school teacher in London and a wonderful friend and all round lovely person. She died in October 08 of ovarian cancer at the age of 36. Her partner Chris has organised a bike ride in her memory to raise funds for the Eve Appeal. The Eve Appeal funds research into ovarian cancer and has never, does not currently and have assured me will never fund animal based research. Abby became vegan towards the end of her life and her partner Chris is vegetarian. She leaves behind a six year old daughter who will be taking part in the final stage of the ride. The route covers 420 miles from Kilmarnock in Scotland where Abby's father lived to St Barts Hospital where Abby died. It takes place over 6 days from Tuesday 16 June to Sunday 21 June. All ability cyclists welcome and participants can join for as much or as little of the ride as they prefer. Check out the website- I can't get the link below to work but if you cut and paste the following web address you should be able to locate it (www.kilmarnocktobarts.com) or contact Chris for more details.
